Edit, filter, and sort a Sheet
Make reliable day-to-day changes without losing the shared view of your data.
Use a Sheet as a shared, structured workspace: edit a cell directly, add or insert rows when the data needs more records, and use the column controls to shape the data before you make decisions from it.
Edit deliberately
Select a cell and enter a value in the cell editor. Select the relevant rows before a bulk action, and review the target column before you confirm an enrichment or type conversion. Use Undo (Cmd/Ctrl+Z) for a committed Sheet change and Redo (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+Z or Cmd/Ctrl+Y) to reapply it. Text editing inside an open cell keeps its normal editor history.
Column controls let an editor sort, insert columns on either side, and pin a column left or right. Pinning is your personal viewport preference; it does not rearrange the shared Sheet for other people.
Filter the shared Sheet
Open Filter in the Sheet toolbar, add a condition, choose the target column and operator, then enter the value where the operator needs one. The available conditions follow the column type: for example, number and date columns can use ranges, select columns can match options, and text-like columns can contain or start with text.
Filters are shared Sheet state. Changing them changes the view for people using that Sheet, so describe the intended question before replacing an existing filter. If an old copied URL includes personal filters, Leadbase normalizes it to the current shared filter state rather than treating the URL as authority.
Sort and search
Use a column header to sort ascending or descending; remove the sort from the same menu when the original ordering is more useful. The Sheet search field narrows the visible rows, while filters express a reusable condition on structured values. Clear both before you conclude that a record is missing.
For a known Sheet, use its own toolbar. For navigation across Sheets, rows, actions, and documentation, use workspace search from the app header.
A safe review loop
- State the question in the Sheet title, a note, or the assistant chat.
- Filter and sort only the columns needed to answer it.
- Inspect a few visible rows for false matches.
- Make edits or run enrichment only after that check.
- Use history if you need to inspect or recover a prior version.
