Use the assistant

Start a focused chat with the right workspace context.

  1. Open the assistant from the workspace rail.
  2. Start a new chat or select an existing one.
  3. Attach the active Sheet or select additional Sheets from the attachment picker.
  4. Ask for a concrete result, such as a concise summary, research plan, or analysis of the attached data.

Attachments give the assistant context; they do not grant access beyond the Sheets you can already open. You can add files to a message where the interface supports it, but do not treat an attachment as proof that the assistant has verified the file’s claims.

When the assistant proposes an action that changes data, read the approval details before accepting it.
